TenantWatchDog conducted research to find out if Consumer Collection Management Inc., a Revenue Recovery debt collector based in Missouri, is willing and able to work with tenants who owe them money. After intense research it was determined that the customer service representatives are extremely  below average for such debt collection companies.  The most common complaint from consumers that have dealt with CCM in the past is not validating debt and trying to collect a debt not owed.

In this 2023 review you can also read about your Rights as a Consumer regarding any debts owed plus additional information on their address and contact details in the About section!

Consumer Collection Management Fact-Checked Information

Tenant Watch Dog has thoroughly researched and confirmed that Consumer Collection Management Inc. is one of the harder debt collection agencies to negotiable with.  Since their business model is Contingency Based Collections.

When an apartment complex enters into a contingency agreement with a collection agency, they will not charge you in advance for their services. Instead, they will take a cut from any money they are able to successfully collect for you. These fees, known as contingency fees, generally range from 20% to 50% of the debts collected.

With that being said they are known to be greedy, deceptive and threatening to consumers just to close the deal.  We recommend to be very cautious when dealing with CCM.

However consumers still have options for fixing past due payments:

A payment in full or discounted settlement/payment plan can both be requested; as well if it cannot accurately validated or is cancelled by either client of Consumer Collection Management then this too counts towards removal from your credit report!

Consumer Collection Management Buys Third-Party Debt CANNOT BE CONFIRMED

As mentioned earlier in this article we cannot confirm nor deny that Consumer Collection Management buys any debt, or if debt is directly from their clients; i.e. multi-family housing (apartment complexes, condos etc.)

4 Ways to Remove Consumer Collection Management from Your Credit Report TRUE
  1. A consumer satisfies the debt by payment in full, settling the debt by paying less than the amount owed (discounted settlement) or fulfilling a payment plan until the balance owed is completely satisfied.
  2. A Pay for Delete option, can be requested;  This is a settlement discount, this is not offered automatically.  The consumer has to explicitly request it.
  3. The debt cannot be accurately validated.
  4. If the account is cancelled for any reason.

Know Your Consumer Rights

Are you dealing with Consumer Collection Management or another debt collector? Be aware that the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is in place to protect your rights!

This law prevents collectors from contacting you

  • At early or late hours
  • Continuing to call after being asked not-to
  • Harassing anyone involved with the debt and
  • Making false claims.

It is also required for them to validate any requested debts within 30 days of receiving notice – so ensure they are complying by brushing up on FDCPA regulations first.
