National Credit Systems Inc Collection Agency Fact-Checked Information

National Credit Systems Inc. is a legitimate debt collection agency that primarily focuses on collecting debts for property management companies, particularly in the apartment rental sector. They acquire overdue balances, such as unpaid rent or fees, from former tenants. Unlike some misconceptions, National Credit Systems does not engage in scam practices. It is a registered company operating under federal laws like the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), ensuring consumers’ rights are protected during the collection process

One common point of confusion involves pay-for-delete agreements, which are sometimes misunderstood. While some consumers have had success negotiating with National Credit Systems to remove negative entries from their credit report in exchange for payment, this is not a guaranteed practice. Credit reporting agencies discourage this because they prioritize accurate and complete reporting. As a result, they may be inconsistent in offering such agreements, and consumers should always request any agreements in writing.

Another misconception is whether National Credit Systems purchases debt or merely acts as a collector. In reality, National Credit Systems does both—they purchase delinquent accounts from property management companies and also act as third-party collectors for creditors. When purchasing debts, they acquire them in bulk, meaning the original creditor has sold the rights to the debt. This is why National Credit Systems might contact consumers regarding unpaid balances from previous apartment leases or related charges

Know Your Consumer Rights

Are you dealing with another debt collector? An important part of the Apartment Debt Collector Reviews on our site is to make sure consumers have the information they need.  Be aware that the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is in place to protect your rights!

This law prevents collectors from contacting you

  • At early or late hours
  • Continuing to call after being asked not-to
  • Harassing anyone involved with the debt and
  • Making false claims.

It is also required for them to validate any requested debts within 30 days of receiving notice – so ensure they are complying by brushing up on FDCPA regulations first.

Wouldn't Negotiate a Payment Plan

March 25, 2023

I found the staff at this debt collection agency to be professional and courteous. However, they were not able to negotiate a repayment plan that worked for me, and I felt like they were more interested in collecting as much money as possible.

Horrible Customer Service to Say the Least

January 30, 2023

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with this debt collection agency, and it was an absolutely terrible experience. The customer service staff were rude and unhelpful, and seemed to be more focused on getting money out of me than helping me understand the situation. I would strongly advise anyone looking for debt collection services to avoid this agency. Their bad customer service is not worth the hassle!

I hope that National Credit Systems see this. The so-called reps are so disrespectful and moreover just rude. As a consumer I tried to negotiate a settlement with them the reps keep asking for payment before agreeing to a settlement. It is insane these people are even in business.

They Are Idiots Uneducated and Rude

June 23, 2020

Maybe if the reps actually read the FDCPA and knew what they were not supposed to do there wouldn’t be so many people so angry when dealing with this debt collector.
